Community Response Plannning

When a natural disaster hits, there may be little or no warning. All communities may need to take care of themselves for up to three days before help can arrive.
A Community Response Plan (CRP) is a proactive way to help to ensure there are measures in place for the community to look after itself.

In planning, you’ll work with Northland Civil Defense to understand the hazards that exist in your community, and what risks these hazards pose to your community.

You’ll find out what can be done to prepare yourself and what might be needed for those who depend on you in an emergency. Plus, you’ll learn about the warning signs to evacuate, and where to evacuate to.

The goal is for the community to be able to respond to an emergency without any immediate help from emergency services or civil defense emergency management.

Check the Northland Civil Defense website to see if your community already has a plan. If so, read it, share it in your community and be familiar with it.

If you have questions, or want to develop a new Community Response Plan get in touch with the Civil Defense team. They can guide you in the best course of action.
